Are you throwing your money away on video?

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

Are you throwing your money away? If you are hiding your video you have just wasted your hard earned dollars! Video is a powerful marketing tool. When adding video to your website don’t hide it under a link. Make sure it is located “above the fold” so that it is readily seen.  Don’t make your visitor look for the video or you will have wasted your money and a valuable asset.

A VIDEO can explain who you are and how you will benefit your website visitor

Online Marketing – part 2

Monday, July 18th, 2011

IT’S ALL ABOUT FIRST IMPRESSIONS

You know, you only have one chance to make a great first impression!  That first impression is often obtained from your website.  Is it impressive?  Are you greeting them?  Do visitors have to read long pages of text to find the information they are looking for?  In this hectic world most people do not take the time to read website information.  They do a quick scan of the page and move on.  With thousands of websites, you only have about 3 seconds to grab their attention or it’s click and they are gone. If a prospective client walked into your store would you silently hand them a brochure and walk away?  Of course not!

 Marketing 2011

Are you missing an important piece of marketing?

Today many companies are using the power of video to capture that attention.  Video provides numerous ways to greet online visitors, inform and showcase their products or services, provide personnel profiles, offer client testimonials, as well as attracting the search engines.  Your video must be informative and explain how the product, service or personnel will benefit your prospective client.  The advantage of online video vs TV is that you are not confined to a specific length.  It depends on your message – show and tell what your visitors came to find out about you.  More importantly, online visitors are looking for your information – it is being presented at the time they want to see and hear it.

Clean-Up Group uses video extensively on their website.  Owner, Joe Macomber stated that the videos not only inform potential clients it has brought them more business.

10 QUICK DIY VIDEO TIPS

  1. Be aware of your background.  You don’t want to look like something is growing out of your head or are wearing Mickey Mouse ears.
  2. Don’t wear stripes, it can make the finished video look wiggly
  3. Sit or stand straight.  If this is for business, you want to make a great first impression.
  4. Don’t shoot with a window or other bright light behind the subject.   If possible have a good overhead light.
  5. Move the camera slowly and smoothly.  Practice – not too fast, not boringly slow.
  6. Don’t zoom in and out too fast or too often
  7. Don’t zoom in too closely.  Nose hairs and teeth are not a great view.
  8. Speak clearly.  SMILE.  Dont stand “frozen” this is a movie after all.
  9. If you are talking about your product or service – tell the viewer how it will help them.
  10. Tape a cheat sheet just to the left or right of the camera

HAVE FUN!
